In november 2006 werd Guus aangestoken met het zogenoemde ‘’musicalvirus’’. Hij kwam terecht bij de Deventer Jeugd Musical en speelde tot juni 2011 mee in verschillende producties.
Na vijf jaar ontwikkelen binnen de Deventer Jeugd Musical en na zijn deelname aan het MusicalCamp van Ramaekers Entertainment durfde hij het aan om auditie te gaan doen voor de Willem Nijholt Academie. Hij werd aangenomen en hij kon zich verder gaan ontwikkelen. In zijn stagejaar speelde hij van oktober 2014 tot april 2015 in de theaterproductie Diner voor Twee, gemaakt voor Stichting de Zonnebloem. Hierin stond hij op het toneel naast Ron Brandsteder, Joke de Kruijf, Petra Berger, Rolf Koster en Arwin Kluft.
Toen hij bijna klaar was met zijn studie aan de Willem Nijholt Academie, later Nederlandse Musical Academie genoemd, wilde hij nog doorstuderen. Hij deed auditie bij Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten voor de opleiding Musicaltheater. In 2019 is hij hier afgestudeerd.
Verder was hij te zien in de Spektakel Musical 40-45 van Studio 100 en zong en danste hij vorig seizoen in 'HeartBeat' van The Magic of Jeans. Ook dit jaar is hij te zien als solist in de afscheids tour van The Magic of Jeans 'Time to say Goodbye'.
Guus speelt op dit moment in de meerdere malen bekroonde succes musical Soldaat van Oranje.

In November 2006, Guus was infected with the so-called "musical virus". He ended up at the Deventer Youth Musical and played in various productions until June 2011. After five years of development within the Deventer Youth Musical and after his participation in the Musical Camp of Ramaekers Entertainment, he dared to audition for the Willem Nijholt Academy.
He was accepted and he could continue to develop. During his internship year, he played in the theater production Diner voor Twee, made for Stichting de Zonnebloem. In this he was on stage alongside Ron Brandsteder, Joke de Kruijf, Petra Berger, Rolf Koster and Arwin Kluft.
When he had almost finished his studies at the Willem Nijholt Academy, later called the Netherlands Musical Academy, he wanted to continue studying. He auditioned at Fontys School of the Arts for the Musical Theater course. He graduated here in 2019.
He was also seen in the Spektakel Musical 40-45 of Studio 100 and last season he sang and danced in 'HeartBeat' by The Magic of Jeans. Also this year he can be seen as a soloist in the farewell tour of The Magic of Jeans 'Time to say Goodbye'.
Guus is currently playing in the multi-award winning musical Soldaat van Oranje.
